In the summer of 1971 I painted one small multimedia piece for 26 days in July and August. Each is on 8"x10" construction paper. They are multi media pastels, ink, ebony pencil and gauche. This disciplined body of traditional painted work was very rewarding. It was during a time when I was experimenting with painting found objects like wicker chairs, a car hood and tires. I had become self-conscious that paintings on canvas were "window like"and that became a problem for me. These paintings got me out of the dilema. ...
